Generating a link to your adviser page
Many advisers provide a link to their adviser page in their email signature or on their website. Since the launch of the new portal, adviser pages have dynamic URLs — so it’s difficult to provide a link. However, it is possible to generate a static link using the QR code from the digital licence certificate.
To create a static link:
- Download your digital licence certificate using the instructions here:
Licence Identification (ID) - Use your phone to scan the QR code but do not navigate to the page.
- Copy the underlying link generated by the QR code. It will have the format https://app.mbieregisters.govt.nz/iaa/ui/start/individualOccupationView/xxx, where the last portion of the URL is an alphanumeric code. This link does not change.
- Use the link you have copied to create a link for your email signature or website.
Clause 14 of the Licensed Immigration Advisers Code of Conduct 2014 requires that a licensed immigration adviser provide evidence of being licensed to the client. INZ v Tran [2024] NZIACDT 27 provides more guidance on how an adviser might meet their obligations under cl14 of the Code.
